Week #2: Sexual Violence, Consent & Communication Techniques

The aim of this workshop is to provide youth with a better understanding of consent culture, sexual violence, and how to implement effective communication in their day-to-day lives. We will discuss foundational concepts of consent and the different forms that sexual violence can take. Consent will be explored not only in the context of sexual activity, but also in everyday interactions. Sexual exploitation and human trafficking will be discussed with a focus on prevention, recognizing risks, and knowing one’s rights. We will discuss identifying and upholding personal boundaries, mutual respect, and different communication techniques.
